The Native American sculptural figures "Nakoma and Nakomis" were designed for the Nakoma Country Club, a building inspired by the ceremonial campgrounds of the Winnebago Tribe. Frank Lloyd Wright's original commission was to be built in Wisconsin, but it was never realized until the clubhouse was recently constructed by Taliesin Architects. Ceremonial Wedding Vase inspired by Native Americans
This Ceremonial Wedding Vase, inspired by Native American traditions, has two spouts which are connected by a handle and pour into one unified vase container. A geometric pattern repeats around the spouts and across the vase. The shape suggests the harmony created when two lovers are unified once married. During the wedding ceremony, each person will drink from his or her spout some holy water, thereby exchanging their vows. This vase would make a treasured gift for a newly engaged couple or newlyweds embarking on their journey together. Made from resin with cream, red, and black details, 8.75"H x 8.75"W. Kalispel Man Bust
One of the oldest native cultures in of the Pand Oreille River, the Kalispel tribe was comprised of semi-nomadic hunters, diggers and fishermen. The Kalispel were profoundly if unwillingly influenced by their stronger Plains neighbors. It is as evident due to the styles of clothing and headdresses from hair roaches of the fancy dancers to the elaborate face painting.
